Bike Baton Rouge Celebrates the Rebranding of BRASS
Baton Rouge Advocates for Safe Streets is well known locally
by its acronym, "BRASS". Mark
Martin, BRASS founder, stated that "We have worked diligently for the past
nearly 7 years to build our reputation as knowledgeable advocates for
bicycling".
“Bike Baton Rouge” will position the organization for
growth, and widen its reach and scope of service in the community. With its new name and logo, Bike Baton Rouge
will continue operations under the umbrella of Baton Rouge Advocates for Safe
Streets. "It has become clear that
we need to reach out even father into the community," said Martin. "To do so effectively we need a fresh
name that says what we do, and we need fresh programs that serve to advance our
efforts within the community. BRASS isn't going away, we're simply growing
up." Major objectives of Bike Baton
Rouge are to encourage the acceptance of bicycles as transportation, and to
promote bicycle safety and infrastructure.
With help and support from the community, we can create a better place
to ride, a better place to walk, a better place to live. Here are some links for more information,
